The World Botanical Gardens and Umaumau waterfalls are located Northwest of Hilo on the Hamakua coast. The gardens are situated on 275 acres of former sugarcane fields. The sprawling grounds exhibits the largest variety of plants in the state of Hawaii and also includes the spectacular triple-tiered Umaumau Falls, acclaimed as Hawaii's most beautiful waterfall.
Our two hour guided tours are conducted by our garden director and horticulture expert, Dr. Lanny Neel. Your tour guide will lead you to a spectacular view of the Umaumau Falls, follow along a quiet and serene natural spring-fed stream lined with many of Hawaii's unique plants and trees, and then take you to the lunch pavilion in a shady forest overlooking the stream. A delicious lunch will be prepared and served by a local Hawaiian caterer and desert will include samplings of fresh fruit carefully selected and cut from our own garden and other locally grown locations. Following lunch the tour will proceed to the finally destination, the magnificent Rainbow Gardens.
